Description

1. Overview

ECFG-R4 is a four-channel open system for the road testing of automotive cameras, easily initialized with low-code to bring up sensors and SerDes chips. It features 4 FAKRA connectors, supports GMSL & FPD-Link, and is compatible with various deserializer chips. Powered by an NVIDIA Orin Nano 8G SoC, it records RAW video data locally at up to 1.2 GB/s on M.2 NVMe SSD — completely independent of a host PC — and streams preview to the host over USB 3.0 Type-C.

Paired with UGrab, the interactive PC software for monitoring and inspecting automotive cameras, ECFG-R4 covers the complete workflow from camera bring-up to road testing and production.

2. Product Highlights

  • Local RAW Video Recording: 2 x M.2 NVMe SSD slots — up to 1.2 GB/s with one SSD and 2.4 GB/s with two SSDs, independent of host performance.
  • Low-Code SerDes & Sensor Bring-Up: customize deserialization and sensor configurations without deep driver development.
  • 4 x FAKRA Inputs: supports GMSL2 (MAX9296), GMSL3 and FPD-Link (TI954, TI9702); additional deserializers can be customized.
  • Multi-Device Synchronization: hardware synchronization of frames across multiple devices.
  • POC Module Power Supply: 4–16 V, up to 1 A power over coax.
  • Voltage & Current Monitoring: LED indication when voltage is abnormal.
  • Frame & Link Status Monitoring: real-time status of every camera channel.
  • I2C Transparent Transmission Control: USB-to-I2C dongles for Flash and EEPROM programming.
  • Custom GPIO Extensions: flexible trigger and control signals for system integration.

  • UGrab Interactive Software support for camera monitoring and inspection during testing.
  • Host System: Ubuntu 20.04 / Windows 10.

6. FAQ

Q: How many cameras does the ECFG-R4 support?
A: Four FAKRA camera channels with MIPI D-PHY 4 lanes at 2.5 Gbps per lane; GMSL2 (MAX9296), GMSL3 and FPD-Link (TI954/TI9702) deserializers are supported.

Q: Can it record video locally?
A: Yes — dual M.2 NVMe SSDs record locally at up to 8 MP @ 60 fps (≈ 960 MB/s) or 17 MP @ 30 fps (≈ 1020 MB/s).

Q: Does it power the connected cameras?
A: Yes — POC over coax delivers 4–16 V at up to 1 A to the cameras, so no separate camera power wiring is needed.

Q: Which host systems does it work with?
A: Ubuntu 20.04 and Windows 10, with SDK development kit and UGrab interactive software support; operating range 0–50 °C.
